Umpires: Fall Pre-season Clinic
Why become an umpire?
There's a shortage of umpires everywhere, but especially in Florida. It's a terrific way to earn money and stay active with the flexibility of creating your own schedule. Umpires are needed at ALL LEVELS, and we want to help you get better, or get started.
Did you know:
- Games pay about $20/hour. Many games pay more than that.
- It's a great way to stay active. Olympic level athleticism is not required, but you will be moving.
- We do FREE clinics to help you get started, and we'll help you order your gear. Check the information on our clinics below.
- It's the Best Seat In the House - no one at the park has as good a view as you do from the field, and if you appreciate pitching, there is no better look!
- Set your own schedule - you're independent. Work when you want or can. Work more if you can or need to. Don't work when you have other plans. Unlimited vacation days (with notice). You literally work when you want.
Umpire 101 Clinic
This is designed to teach beginners the basics...starting positions, responsibilities, plate work, etc. We'll cover the minimum you'll need to get on the field, and a lot more.
Umpire 201 Clinic
For the official who's been on the field and wants to be better. We can run this with the 101 clinic because it's still about starting positions and responsibilities, but we'll take extra time to teach some of the subtleties of common plays and sharpen those mechanics!
